Shoulder pain is a common reason to seek medical attention, fortunately it does not always mean surgery.
Rotator cuff tears can have several causes and the older we get, the more frequently these shoulder problems occur.
SLAP tears are a very specific type of labral tear that may be the cause of pain after very specific injuries to the shoulder. This type of tear can also be part of the normal aging process.
Knee pain is very common. When you have knee pain following an injury there is often a specific reason. We can help find that reason and suggest options for treatment.
This is a common reason for knee pain with or without a specific injury. We can help you be sure which treatment option is most likely to help and which will not help.
This site can help explain why an orthopedic surgeon was recommended, what they can accomplish, and what you should expect.
Knee arthritis is a growing problem as people age. Non-surgical treatments are always tried first. Which ones work and which ones don't is not a matter of opinion it is a matter of science. What do experts recommend? This is a link to treatment options which then link to why they work or do not work. We love to discuss these findings with you and help optimize your choices based on what is best for you.
The information here is very technical in places, we will help explain it so that you can understand.
Patients who have subchondral bone defects—also known as Bone Marrow Lesions (BML)—may be candidates for a new, minimally-invasive surgery called the Subchondroplasty (SCP®) Procedure. This technique targets and fills bone defects with a hard-setting bone substitute material (BSM) with physical and chemical properties similar to cancellous bone. As the body heals the defect, the BSM will be replaced with new bone. This is most commonly done in the knee, but other joints can be treated too.
This is an exciting alternative to the Reverse Total Shoulder for the patient with a rotator cuff tear that can not be repaired. We are very happy to discuss the procedure's pros and cons in detail and in person. Please talk to us about saving your shoulder joint. You owe it to yourself to find out more.
